This fixed all the problems I was having. The only way to fix the problem for me was to move back to Excel 2007 (with service pack 2). I tried all of the suggestions above (unhide objects, repair, hot fix and printer drivers) and these did not work. #3 Most if not all the boxes on the left side of the sheet that have borders (dotted line borders) don't print, which is not a big problem as I have found that if I change the line type they do print correctly. Again I can't find where I can change how large the text prints. #2 there is a drop down box for (cell A,9) next to the text "cabinet Type" and this text prints larger with this version of office over the 07 version. The above mentioned problem is not the only problem I am having,I feel I should mention them as maybe all of these problems may be connected or not. I am sure this problem will get more attention once my customer upgrades to 2010 office, currently they feel it is my problem, because they can't simulate the problem on their 2007 excel 32x system. This problem is costing my company $$$ if you (by that I mean myself or co-workers) fail to save the document before printing, and then close the file and don't save it after printing.Īfter printing several pages of the document become un-recoverable (without unprotecting the tab and manually moving and re-sizing every checkbox which there is 30 of these checkboxes), and you have to delete the tab and re-do the work.
Thanks Sally but the answer to our problem really isn't answered. Since the first posting, the problem is not just with print preview, the problem also occurs if you print without previewing the document. Not exactly a straight forward message, however I have come to expect that. The hotfix said "there are no products affected by this package installed on this system".
If you only want to print out specific info from an article, read our article: How to print only selected text from a webpage.Hi Will, no this hotfix didn't work. Nothing is worse than someone printing out 500 pages when you need the printer to get one simple page.Īlso, remember you don’t need to waste time and ink printing out entire web pages either. This is a great way to save printer ink and paper, as well as time for you and your colleagues. From the ribbon under Page Layout, click Print Area > Clear Print Area. If you get too deep into adjusting print areas, they will stay until you clear them out. You can tweak the preview area and manually type in more cells if you want to include them.
You can get deep into the printer settings. And you can select the printer you want to use and adjust print settings. Now you will get a view of the area you’re printing out. This allows you to include any headers or labels associated with the data.
From here, type in the Columns and Rows that you want to repeat (if any), then click on Print Preview.
Next, select the Sheet tab in the Page Setup windows that appears. You won’t really notice anything happen to the document at that point, but next, while still under the Page Layout tab, click Print Titles. Start by opening the Excel spreadsheet you need, hold down the Ctrl key and highlight the area of the document you want to print out.Īfter selecting the area you want to print out, go to Page layout > Print Area > Set Print Area. The controls are just located in different areas on the Ribbon and toolbars. Note: For this article, I am using Excel in Office 2013, but the principle is the same in other versions of Excel, too.
